Our Issues

County Executive Aaron Reardon, in combination with Airport Director Dave Waggoner, are going all out to declare war against the community by working to bring in air service to Paine Field. Tell them NO! as many ways as possible. This is a complete repudiation and fraud of the 30 year-old promise made by the County in the MRD.
Tell them we want the Centennial Rule applied to Paine Field. This would allow ongoing FAA funding AND the ability to PROHIBIT Air service! Check out our white paper on the Centennial Rule and call your Congressman (Jay Inslee) or Senator (Murray or Cantwell) and tell them you want the Centennial Rule at Paine Field!
Snohomish County Council passes Paine Field resolution
6/4/2008
With Republican councilmember John Koster casting the lone dissenting vote, the Snohomish County Council today passed Joint Resolution 08-020. The resolution reaffirms the county's commitment to preserving the existing general aviation role of Paine Field and to pursue a joint Interlocal Agreement between the county and the surrounding cities, "...discouraging any action that would facilitate, directly or indirectly, use of Paine Field for scheduled air passenger service or air cargo service."
Prior to the council's vote, the resolution was amended to read as follows:
"Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Snohomish County Executive and Council do jointly reaffirm our county's commitment to preserving the existing general aviation role of Paine Field, and will pursue any and all lawful and appropriate means to discourage any action that would facilitate, directly or indirectly, use of Paine Field for scheduled air passenger service or cargo air service, which may include an interlocal agreement."
